Tuesday Evening Meditation Practice & Book Study

7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

NEW Tuesday Practice & Study Night

Meditation practice is enhanced by study. In this way, practice and study are like two wings of a bird – you need both in order to soar. To support the practice of meditation, we are offering Practice & Study Night every Tuesday evening, starting at 6:45 p.m. These contemplative events have proven very popular at other Shambhala Centers, and we hope that our community in Sonoma, in addition to our Sunday morning gathering, will also come to appreciate the special quality of evening group practice and study.

Meditation instruction is offered free of charge at 6:45 pm so please come at that time if you are new to the meditation forms we practice in Shambhala, or if you’d like a refresher. If you do not require instruction, please feel free to join us at 7:00 p.m. for silent meditation practice.  Following meditation, at around 7:30, we will be reading and discussing a chapter from a dharma book.

We’ll end the session with our evening chants, along with a few explanatory words about chanting for those new to this practice.

No prior meditation experience is required to attend and everyone is warmly welcome!  Though there is no charge to participate, as always, your generous contribution in any amount is greatly appreciated.

Please e-mail any question you may have to [email protected] or call 415-412-8570.

Come join us for an evening of practice & study together in community!
